Welcome to our About us: Quantum Makers Studio page. We created this page to give you a behind-the-scenes look at how we’ve built the ultimate creative laboratory for kids in Thao Dien. At Quantum Makers Studio, our mission is to turn every student into a confident inventor by giving them the tools, the space, and the encouragement to build something real!
Our founder
Why I started Quantum Makers Studio
After ten years in education, I kept seeing the same pattern: children handed a box of parts and a step-by-step manual. The moment the outcome became guaranteed, the thinking stopped.
That worried me, because of the world these children are growing into. Whatever their careers end up looking like, the parts that can be reduced to following a manual are the parts most likely to be done by a machine. What will still matter is the ability to look at an unfamiliar problem, think it through, and work out a way forward.
So I wanted to build the opposite. A place where the outcome isn’t guaranteed, and where a child can have an idea that doesn’t work, figure out why, and have the tools to fix it themselves.

Our vision
Curiosity first. Tools second.
If you’ve ever watched a Mark Rober video, you know what we’re aiming for. He doesn’t start with a textbook — he starts with a curious question. How far can a paper aeroplane fly? How do you outsmart a squirrel? The engineering, the maths and the code are just the tools he uses to find out.
We want the same for our students: children who look at the world, wonder how it works, and build the confidence to test their own ideas. That means real tools rather than toy kits — nothing here arrives in a box with the answer packed inside it.
It also means permission to fail. Grit isn’t built when a project works first time. It’s built in the moment a child wrestles with something that doesn’t, changes the design, and finally watches it run — and that moment is worth building a whole studio around.
Where ideas come to life
Explore our creative spaces
Our studio in Thao Dien is designed so every tool is visible and within arm’s reach. If children can see a tool, they can imagine what to make with it.
The Maker Station
The main building zone, where students work with wood, cardboard, hand tools and electronics. Everything lives on open pegboards, so a student who needs a tool can simply go and get it.
The 3D Tech Corner
Where digital designs become real objects. Lessons run on the big screen, and students learn that almost every good invention is about two millimetres off on the first attempt.
The Coding & Design Lab
Where students write code and model in CAD. Every project is tracked through Google Classroom, so parents can follow along as a rough idea turns into a finished build.
What makes us different
Four things you won’t find in a kit class
Eight students, maximum
Small enough that a teacher sees every child’s work in every lesson, and catches a misunderstanding the week it appears.
Real tools and materials
Breadboards, sensors, hand tools, cardboard, wood and Fomex. We build with hardware, not prefabricated plastic.
Skills that scaffold
Every class assumes the one before it. Students are never handed a component they haven’t been prepared for — which is why they can be trusted with real ones.
We don’t fix it for them
When something doesn’t work, we ask what they’ve checked. Students learn to trace a fault themselves rather than wait for an adult.
